Rowlett Strong was originally formed to raise funds for tornado relief, in the aftermath of the 12-26-15 “Christmas tornadoes.” Most of our citizens were either affected either directly by the tornado, or know someone who was. The event took an emotional toll on many who were not physically touched by the storm.

Rowlett Strong has conducted numerous fundraisers to help with tornado relief:

2/20/16 Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser and Silent Auction $2,500
3/26/16 Rebuild Rowlett 5K $40,655
6/11/16 Scavenge Rowlett $5,000
Ongoing City-Wide Spirit Event over $5000
6/10/17 Next up is the 2nd Annual Rebuild Rowlett 5K ?

The need for help is ongoing as some are still fighting with insurance companies, some have suffered losses due to materials theft or crooked contractors, and some just weren’t insured or were underinsured and still struggle. We won’t stop until everyone is back in their home where they belong.
